How do I test Kiip?

Setup a test device: 

We recommend adding a test device to your app before getting started with an integration, but you can do this via the Kiip dashboard at any time. Simply navigate to the 'Test Devices' section of the Developer Console found at the bottom of your application's page in the Kiip Dashboard. Then give your device a name and enter the Advertising ID. You can add multiple test devices.

Test devices are set to 'enabled' by default but you can disable, reenable, or delete them at any time from the Developer Console.

Android

Device Level

To add a test device to your Android app, click the Test Devices button at the bottom of the desired application page on the Kiip Dashboard. Define a unique name for the device and the device’s Google Advertising ID. This can be found in the device’s Google Settings > ads.

For Kiip Android SDK 2.0.8 or earlier, substitute the device’s Android ID for the Google Advertising ID. Use ADID Sender if you need help locating a device’s Android ID.

Note: The Android emulator will always be recognized as a test device

Build Level
This Test Mode method requires Kiip SDK 2.3.0 or higher. To set Test Mode at the build level requires include the follow flag:

The default value for this flag is NO.

iOS

Device Level
To add a test device to an iOS app, click the Test Devices button at the bottom of the desired application page on the Kiip Dashboard. Define a unique name for the device and the device’s Advertising ID. You can retrieve your Advertising ID by downloading The Identifiers app.

For pre-iOS 7 devices, substitute the device’s MAC address for Advertising ID. 

Build Level
This Test Mode method requires Kiip SDK 2.3.0 or higher. To set Test Mode at the build level requires include the follow flag:

The default value for this flag is NO.

Note: The iOS Simulator will always be recognized as a test device.


How do I test Kiip?

When testing Kiip, a sample reward will display every every successfully logged moment. Out of test mode, not every achievement will trigger a reward. Remember that rewards are given out based on our internal algorithm, which emphasizes randomness and serendipity. Please keep in mind, that test devices will always see sample rewards, even if you application is enabled.

Live Environment

In a live environment, Kiip is best tested from a US geolocation or using a US-based VPN.
